Pollution prevention (P2) methods help cities minimize municipal wastes and emissions. P2 assistance programs have helped residents and industries in Seattle and other cities reduce the amount of solid, liquid, and toxic wastes they generate by as much as 50%, while improving their profits and their health. Lessons from the Northwest can help any city in the world dramatically reduce waste management and pollution control costs while improving the local economy.
