Representatives of the Royal (ex Prince's) Award, ICLEI's
Local Initiatives Award, the "bremen initiative" and the BLP
met in Copenhagen on 30 June in an first attempt towards
harmonising award systems in the area of sustainable
development. The meeting resulted in the establishment of
a working group on harmonising reporting formats and
criteria and also concluded on the desirability of having
a Sustainable Development Awards Portal providing
submitters and users with a single interface for
awards, databases and applications such as transfers.

The Huairou Commission, representing more than 1,000 women's
groups from poor communities, undertook a "Gender Report
card" of the presentations made at the Thematic Committee of

presentations in terms of their level of gender mainstreaming.
