The 2020 Fund at the King Baudouin Foundation in collaboration with Environics International Ltd announces the launch of the Global Stakeholders Panel (GSP) a worldwide research initiative that seeks to crystallize what stakeholders from all sectors and all geographies consider to be the salient and key issues affecting globalization, governance and capacity building.
The 2020 Fund is dedicated to accelerating progress toward a sustainable world. Environics International Ltd., a Canadian global issues research firm, is managing the logistics of the research on a not-for-profit basis.
This major research initiative will survey opinion leaders and individuals, as stakeholder panelists from around the world, working in senior positions within the NGO, government, and the private sector. Enlisting stakeholder panelists in a way that ensures a representative perspective is key to this initiative. The GSP aims to be a balanced platform through which world citizens from all geographic and economic perspectives can vocalize and define prominent issues.
The results of each survey will be communicated to as many people as possible, reporting how each sector and each segment of society views globalization and governance. The findings will be freely available to all multi-lateral organizations, national governments, NGOs, businesses, and academic organizations, as well as any individual interested in the process of globalization and capacity building.
Current NGO collaborators, who have agreed to distribute GSP surveys throughout their networks, include CONGO, LEAD, ICFTU, CIVICUS, ICCR, ASHOKA, IULA, HURINET and WFUNA.
After July 26th, the first of three waves of interviews in the form of online or print surveys will be available. Surveys will be sent by fax or mail to any organization without online capabilities. People's views can be heard and included in this global listening exercise by completing the survey at:

If you know of an organization whose voice should be included, please contact Simon Jimenez by email: sjimenez@environicsinternational.com.
Preliminary results will be presented at the WSSD at the end of August. To ensure their views are represented there, individuals should submit their completed survey by August 18th, 2002.
