The Communication from the European Commission entitled "The integration of environmental aspects into standardisation" (COM (2004) 130 final), adopted on 25 February 2004, asserts that European standardisation offers great potential to advance the protection of our environment such as improvements on energy efficiency of electrical products, the recyclability of products and the environmental impacts of buildings.
