The workshop aims at giving further directions to the EEA Research for Environment and Sustainability project in terms of identifying constrains and feasibility issues for:
- analyzing mega trends, uncertainties and surprises of relevance for a visionary research outlook to support environmental protection during the transition to sustainability
- producing a visionary research outlook with a long term perspective (20 years) based on a judgement of experts within and outside the EEA, EEA scientific committee. Analyses will be based on the EEA assessments and outlooks and outcomes of other relevant projects and initiatives, and;
- applying a model for identification of emerging research outlook.
